3 Phases to your Home Construction Process: Listen Better, Plan Better, Build Better.

Building a home should be exciting, not overwhelming! At Nate Kaptein Builder we break the whole journey from initial call to warranty into three simple steps; Listen Better, Plan Better, Build Better. From your first call to your one-year warranty check-in. Our process keeps things simple and transparent so you always feel at home!

Listen Better:

Step 1: Inquiry (1-2 days)

• Submit an inquiry form on Start Today!
• We contact you the same day schedule an inquiry call.
• During the call we gather more information about your project and your goals.

 Step 2: Site Consultation (1-2 weeks from contact)

• We meet at your home or lot to discuss your project in depth.
• Based on our conversation, we provide a high-level budget range

Step 3: Pre-Construction Agreement

• Once you approve the budget range, we draft a Pre-Construction Agreement.
• Both client and builder sign, moving the project into the Plan Better phase.

Plan Better:

Step 1: Project Plans & Design (2 weeks – 3+months)

• Architectural renderings are developed.
• The interior design direction is set.
• Key selections and decisions are made.

Step 2: Pricing (2-3 Weeks)

• We send your project details to trusted vendors and trade partners
• Pricing is collected and refined.

Step 3: Proposal

• We create a detailed line-item proposal.
• A presentation meeting is scheduled to walk you through every detail.
• A job contract is signed, moving the project into the Build Better phase.

Build Better:

 Step 1: Permitting (2-3 Weeks)

• We prepare all the documentation and file for permits.
• Materials with long lead times are ordered.
• Trade partners are scheduled to start once permits are approved.

 Step 2: Build (2 – 10+ Months) 

• On-site construction begins

• Construction wraps up and your move in date is set!

Step 3: Warranty

• We check in at 6 months to address any items that come up.
• At 1 year, we schedule a walk through to review your home and take care of any final details.
